Inspiration: Dia De Los Muertos Celebration!

4 Nov

I am so excited about this design! I was inspired to do this board after my friend Tom told me all about the Day of the Dead parade he just went to on a trip to New Orleans over Halloween weekend. Its actually a Mexican holiday that focuses on gathering family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Its a celebration with much eating and partying. One famous symbol of the holiday is the sugar skull which can be found in a lot of Mexican art. They are beautiful painted skulls with bright colors, so that’s what I wanted this wedding design to be about. I love all the color. It takes the morbidity out completely. I think that it has so much potential to be a vibrant, fun and beautiful wedding! Look at the bride and groom sugar skull cake toppers. I found that little LOVE flask on Etsy and I think it would make such a great groomsmen gift (or bridesmaids if they are into that). So much potential!

Wow, Maggie! Really creative…. plus, this totally emphasizes the “Until DEATH do part” part of the vow! So colorful, so lively, so mystically fun!
