Today’s Dress!

31 Mar

For today’ dress I was inspired by today’s dark and stormy cocktail. This satin-faced silk georgette gown with shell-and-paillette trim by Theia would be perfect for a glamorous Jamaican destination wedding. You can find this gown for $795 at Lord & Taylor. I love the creamy off-white color and the flowy skirt for blowing in those tropical shore winds of course! And the detail on the neckline adds a pop of glam. Beautiful!

Thirsty Thursday: Dark & Stormy

31 Mar

I am excited about today’s signature cocktail because it is one my personal favorites. You don’t see it on cocktail menus a lot because the key ingredient is ginger beer, which most bars don’t regularly carry. I saw it on a menu when we went out to dinner the other night and immediately ordered it. Then we bought the ingredients to make it at home and my husband is now obsessed too! My love affair with the spicy flavor of ginger beer goes back to my toddler days. I grew up in Jamaica until I was three and ginger beer, which is non-alcoholic, was a local favorite and I have vivid memories of drinking down this spicy carbonated drink. Good ginger beer is very bitey. The Goslings ginger beer that we bought is a little too mild.  If you can find it try Great Uncle Cornelius’ Finest Spiced Ginger. The best thing about this cocktail is its so easy to make with only three ingredients: rum, ginger beer and lime.

Try this Dreamy Dish recipe for your next dinner or cocktail party and be taken away to a tropical island! For a pretty presentation some people float the rum over the ginger beer to create a two-tone effect.

Inspiration: Summer Brights Bridal Shower

30 Mar

When I came across this bridal shower invitation on Invitation Crush I was instantly drawn to the beautiful color combo of orange, teal and chartreuse. It is such a perfect palette for a summer bridal shower.

Since bright on bright has been one of my favorite recent trends, I was inspired to do a little board to show how these colors can come together and create an amazingly cheery mood!

Today’s Dress!

29 Mar

I love finding fab wedding dresses on Etsy. This one is by Your Fairytale Wedding. It’s such a sweet style with the delicate sleeves and lace around the neckline. I love the tiered lace skirt too! I’m not sure if these shots were from a real wedding or not, but either way the bride and groom are adorable.

Tuesday Shoesday!

29 Mar

Today’s shoes evoke a feel of vintage glam. Seychelles is master of the vintage style t-strap. I love the gold and black color combo. Plus the low thick heel will help keep your footsies comfy as you dance the night away! These would be so cute for a bride or paired with vintagey black bridesmaid dresses. Or maybe something with gold sequins! 🙂 You can nab these on Zappos for $90.

E-Session Spotlight: Graffiti Walls

25 Mar

If you are looking for bold, striking e-photos with an urban feel…look no further than the nearest graffiti wall. I always love these for the fun pops of color and the juxtaposition of funk and romance. And the cool thing about it, is come tomorrow, that wall may never look the same. Here are some great examples from some very talented photographers!
