Inspiration: Tropical Destination Glam

4 May

I am a big fan of today’s board, mostly because it’s for a real bride. This friend of mine knew what she wanted, but just needed a little help putting it into a cohesive board. She is having a destination in Puerto Rico with the ceremony on the beach and reception on the pool deck of the resort. She loves turquoise and pink and had an image in her head of a pink orchid against a turquoise ocean. She wanted it to be modern with a little bit of glam. She provided some great centerpiece pics – I love the blue plexi glass with the coral and candles! I thought that square chargers and bold graphic print napkins were a great way to keep the table settings modern. And how cute is the message in a bottle seating card idea? I know this wedding is going to be beautiful and I can’t wait to see pics!

Inspiration to Reality Shoot on Style Me Pretty: My Modern Clementine

2 May

Good morning and happy Monday! In case you missed it a couple days ago, Style Me Pretty featured an inspiration shoot based on our “My Modern Clementine” inspiration board. Contributors included Bliss Wedding and Event Design and Merriment Design. It has a super cool mod 1960s vibe – so chic I love it! Here are some sneak peak pics but  be sure to check out the whole gallery.

I am Loving: Creative Ceremony Backdrops

6 Apr

You don’t have to spend a zillion dollars on flowers to create a show stopping ceremony backdrop. A little time and dedication and you can create something amazing all on your own. Non-floral ceremony decor is unexpected and creates such a custom feel to the most important part of the big day. Here are some examples I love. How cool is the projected scene silhouette or the outdoor chapel? Using pieces of furniture you already own can be great or even things as simple as paper flower poms, ribbons or a really fun fabric. So if you are as a dedicated as the bride below that created around 1,300 paper origami cranes for her wedding then I bet you can create something really unique that your guests will never forget!

I am Loving: Ribbon Chair Decor!

4 Apr

It’s little details like this that show you really went the extra mile. This is so easy and an inexpensive way to create a special touch. You can just do the bride and groom chair or maybe just the back row of the ceremony chairs. Or if you’re having a small party or shower then go crazy and do all the chairs! I love tone on tone ribbons or mixing in some prints with solids. You can make them long or short. There’s really no way you can wrong here.
