Inspiration: Blush in Bloom

4 Jan

So I have a minor obsession with floral rosettes, especially chiffon ones. And that’s what I used as inspiration for this board. You can basically find any wedding detail in the form of a fabric flower or rosette. I’ve found they mostly come in two shapes – the spiraly flower or the flower pom puff shape. Those are not official names,  just my observation. Here I’ve used a bit of both with a blush pink color palette to create a soft and romantic feel.

Inspiration: Spring on the Farm

21 Dec

With all this snow here in Chicago I wanted to celebrate something to look forward to – Spring! This design captures a laid back spring day on the farm. They key elements I incorporated into this design are:
– Yellow gingham
– Wild daisies
– Eyelet lace
It’s fresh and feminine with a mix of sweet and rustic touches!

Inspiration: Vintage Southern Charm

14 Dec

I love peach and turquoise together. It’s just a little different from the pink and turquoise I’ve been seeing a lot in weddings recently. The combination really evoked a sense of Southern charm to me so I made sure to work in details like mason jars, pies and peach lemonade! Utilizing a piece of distresses turquoise furniture for a dessert display or just to put the programs on with a little flower arrangement would be amazing. I love the seating cards tied to vintage keys and how perfect would this vintage suitcase be to collect the cards in. Oh so pretty I could just squeal!

Inspiration: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

13 Dec

I don’t remember a whole lot about reading the book in 8th grade, but I do know that a deep blue sea affair would be something to remember for sure! Sea creatures and mixed shades of blue come together so harmoniously. If you’ve been looking for the perfect seaside wedding inspiration and seashells just aren’t doing it for you, this inspiration offers some whimsy. I am kind of obsessed with the sea creature gift tags I found on Etsy – so cute for seating cards! And what’s more perfect for a favor than some blue saltwater taffy? How great are the blue glass vases and martini glasses for a signature cocktail? Captain Nemo would be so proud!

Inspiration: Luxe Lavender

9 Dec

I am such a fan of purple of navy as complimenting colors. The lavender shade of purple in this board adds a softness and the navy adds a richness. I wanted to go luxe with this design so I brought in the mirrored details, which I thought worked well and gave it a chic vibe. Isn’t that mirrored clutch to die for? How great it would it be to serve up some Lavendertinis and have lavender chocolates as a favor or a midnight snack. I also love the slick navy suit with the purple bow tie for the guys!

Inspiration: Woodland Wonderland

7 Dec

I love me a woodland inspired wedding. Cute critters + earthy florals means nothing but wonderfulness. A neutral color palette of greens and browns works great with very natural details like moss and mushrooms. So pretty and so magical!! Oh and p.s. I am obsessed with hedgehogs and got to see one at the zoo the other day. Love at first sight!

Inspiration: Sweet Dreams

Whimsical details such balloons, pennant banners and cotton candy cupcakes pair perfectly with a colorful pastel palette and fun retro style and accents. I love the carnation bouquet – I’m usually not a huge fan of carnations but this is one is beautiful! How fun would an ice cream bar be for this wedding? And a live doo wop band would be icing on the cake! And if your groom can rock it, I am loving the dapper pale pink tux, just sayin!
