Tuesday Shoesday!

29 Mar

Today’s shoes evoke a feel of vintage glam. Seychelles is master of the vintage style t-strap. I love the gold and black color combo. Plus the low thick heel will help keep your footsies comfy as you dance the night away! These would be so cute for a bride or paired with vintagey black bridesmaid dresses. Or maybe something with gold sequins! 🙂 You can nab these on Zappos for $90.

The Look: Oscar Worthy Style

25 Feb

In honor of one of style’s biggest nights I wanted to create a wedding day look that is red carpet worthy. As a nod to the famous little statue, I did a little role reversal and went with a gold gown and ivory accessories for the bride and an ivory dress and gold accessories for the bridesmaid. I loved this gold gown that Heidi Klum wore to the Grammy’s and I couldn’t help but think how beautiful a gold gown would be for a bride who was fashion forward enough to mix things up. It’s glamorous and elegant and looks so beautiful paired with an ivory birdcage veil, clutch and shoes. I’ve always been a fan of white or ivory bridemaids dresses so I thought it was the perfect complement to offset the drama of a gold wedding gown. I just see how pretty the whole ensemble would look in pictures. Love!

Inspiration: Canary Song

Today I wanted to use a color that really pops – that color is canary yellow. It’s fresh and elegant and the yellow, black, white and gold color palette has a modern feel to it. I love the canary yellow chiffon gown, which would be beautiful for the bridesmaids and a black and white bouquet would really pop against the dress. The circular tapered candle holder in a modern twist on the traditional candelabra. A black birdcage veil and feathered earrings and shoes are the perfect accessories for the bride. Long sleek black tables would be amazing set with these black and yellow plates and simple yellow tulips. A gold birdcage hanging with a little faux canary inside would be a cute detail well. Inspiration: Ring in the New Year!

19 Nov

I really love the idea of a New Years Eve wedding. We get all dressed up and party anyway, so why the heck not? NYE is such a glam holiday, I feel this wedding design had to live up to the tradition. Opulence, glitz and glamour is where I went with it. A bottle of Cristal on ice for every table? Check! Sexy black sequin bridesmaid dresses? Check! Gold dusted truffles as favors? Check! And how cool would it be to have the ball drop projected onto a wall at the reception? And at midnight the bride and groom can tap their glasses and everyone can give their honey a midnight kiss! Ok I’m getting excited for New Years Eve already and it’s not even Thanksgiving!

Inspiration: Pretty as a Peach

I love love peach and gold together. When I found this image of the little marzipan peaches (they are technically cherries but they look like peaches to me) on Martha Stewart Weddings it was enough to inspire me for this board. I think peach is such an antique color so I had to go more vintage with the style. I love the centerpiece that’s just a pedestal bowl filled with peaches, flowers and some little dried somethings. So easy to even DIY if you wanted. I’m also a big fan of frames and I love these vintage gold ones. You could keep them empty like these as decor accents or you could make them more functional, like for framing table numbers or display a history of family wedding photos.
