The Look: Tropical Destination Glam

4 May

To go along with today’s destination inspiration board, here is a little fashion/style inspiration. The bride to be wanted a flowy white gown and loved this bouquet of mixed pinks. Borrowing the pale pink shades from the bouquet would be perfect for nails and makeup. I love a chunky pair of bold turquoise earrings to add a pop of color to the look. If it’s a beach ceremony, a pair of turquoise jeweled sandals would be fab and then maybe a pair of heels for dancing the night away on resort the pool deck (at least until you just give up and go barefoot).

The Look: Colorblocking for Bridesmaids

20 Apr

Colorblocking is probably the biggest spring/summer fashion trend this year. Of course I love it because it’s a celebration of color on color that otherwise might be thought of as clashy. I think one could have a lot of fun incorporating this trend into a bridesmaid look. Depending on the style of the dress, the trend can be edgy, modern, or preppy. Here are some picks I think would make fabulous bridesmaids dresses. If it’s too avant-garde for your wedding then maybe a shower or rehearsal dress??

The Look: Oscar Worthy Style

25 Feb

In honor of one of style’s biggest nights I wanted to create a wedding day look that is red carpet worthy. As a nod to the famous little statue, I did a little role reversal and went with a gold gown and ivory accessories for the bride and an ivory dress and gold accessories for the bridesmaid. I loved this gold gown that Heidi Klum wore to the Grammy’s and I couldn’t help but think how beautiful a gold gown would be for a bride who was fashion forward enough to mix things up. It’s glamorous and elegant and looks so beautiful paired with an ivory birdcage veil, clutch and shoes. I’ve always been a fan of white or ivory bridemaids dresses so I thought it was the perfect complement to offset the drama of a gold wedding gown. I just see how pretty the whole ensemble would look in pictures. Love!

The Look: Sparkle and Pearl

28 Dec

Nothing is more glam to me than a bridal look that mixes sparkle and pearls. Here I’ve put pieces together that incorporate silver sequins, diamonds and pearls. It sort of combines the vintage elegance of pearls with an edgier feel of the sequins. A gutsy bride would look amazing with a sequin bolero or blazer over her gown, even if just for the reception. And how amazing is the silver brooch bouquet? This is a great look for a New Years Eve bride! Festive and indulgent.

The Look: Boardwalk Empire

7 Dec

Is anyone else loving Boardwalk Empire as much as me? The 1920s fashion is aaaamazing. And the look just happens to work beautiful for the vintage style bride! With the right dress and the right accessories you can capture a look right off of the Atlantic City boardwalk. I like it with a very understated and simple bouquet like this lilly of the valley one. And how gorgeous is the Claire Pettibone gown and the Jade Rose Designs headpiece?!
